The Barn Construction The lower section of the fifth bent, which was built on the deck, is raised. Up it goes. Gene carefully positions the bent. The tenons on the lower end of the posts are placed in the mortises in the deck beams. There is no more room on the deck so the upper section of the fifth bent, a king post truss, is built on the ground. The interconnecting braces are complete on the king post truss. The upper section of the fifth bent is raised into place. A comealong pulls the bent into position. Purlins and the ridge beam are put in place. |
